Clarity.fm connects you with verified experts for private, 1-on-1 video sessions. Browse experts by category, find someone who has already solved the problem you're facing, and book a call to get advice directly from them. Every expert is reviewed by our team before they can take bookings.

How do I book a session with an expert?

Open an expert's profile and pick an available time from their calendar. You choose how long you want the call to be, then answer a few short questions about what you'd like to discuss so the expert can prepare. After you check out, the session is confirmed and you'll get a link to join the video room at the scheduled time.

How much does a session cost?

Each expert sets their own per-minute rate, so the price depends on who you book and how long you talk. The cost of a session is simply that expert's per-minute rate multiplied by the length you select when booking — there are no subscriptions or platform membership fees to use Clarity. The expected maximum is shown clearly before you pay.

How does payment work, and when am I charged?

Payments are handled securely by Stripe. When you book, we place an authorization hold on your card for the maximum length of the session — we don't capture the full amount up front. After the call ends, you're charged for the time actually used, up to the length you booked. Your full card details are never stored on Clarity.

What happens during a video call?

Calls happen right in your browser — there's nothing to download. You join a waiting room first, and the call begins once both you and the expert are present. During the session you'll see a countdown timer for your booked time, and you can share your screen and send chat messages to each other. When the timer runs out, the call wraps up.

Can I cancel a session and get a refund?

Yes. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the session starts, you're automatically refunded. Cancellations inside the 24-hour window aren't automatically refunded. If an expert cancels on you for any reason, you always get a full refund. If something went wrong with a session that already happened, you can request a refund within 7 days of the call — just submit a reason and our team will review it.

Can I reschedule a session?

There isn't a one-click reschedule yet. To move a call, cancel the existing booking (you'll be refunded if you're within the 24-hour window) and book a new time that works for both of you.

How do reviews work?

After a session is completed, you can leave the expert a rating from 1 to 5 stars along with an optional written review. Reviews help future members choose the right expert and keep the network accountable. Only members who actually completed a session with an expert can review them.

Will the session be shown in my time zone?

Yes. All availability and session times are automatically displayed in your local time zone, so you don't have to do any conversions. Experts set their availability in their own time zone, and Clarity handles the rest.

Do I need to pay a subscription to use Clarity?

No. Creating an account, browsing experts, and asking questions in the community are all free. You only ever pay for the 1-on-1 sessions you choose to book — there's no recurring membership required.

Yes. Clarity has a free community Answers section where you can post questions and get responses from experts and other members. If you want personalized, in-depth help, booking a 1-on-1 session is the way to go.

How do I become an expert on Clarity?

Apply through the Become an Expert page. You'll share your area of expertise, a short bio, your background and a key achievement, and set your per-minute rate. Our team reviews every application by hand — typically within 24–48 hours — to keep the network credible. Once you're approved and your profile is set up, you'll appear in the directory and can start taking bookings.

As an expert, how and when do I get paid?

Experts are paid out through Stripe Connect. You connect your bank details to Stripe, and after sessions complete, your earnings build up as an available balance you can withdraw. Clarity takes a commission on each booking (the standard rate is 20%) and you keep the rest. You can track your balance and earnings from your expert dashboard.
